Weekly Recap: 3/23/21

Welcome back to the fifth Weekly Recap! This is the final one before break, which we know we’re all looking forward to!

Women’s History Month:

This week, we’ll be highlighting Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG). RBG was the second woman to serve as a United States Supreme Court Justice and was the first Jewish woman to be a Justice. Sadly, Ginsburg passed away in September of 2020, devastating millions of supporters all over the world. Her spirit is still with us, however, and she lives on through her incredible contributions to the justice system and the world. If you’re interested in learning more about RBJ, check out some of the films below.

  • RBG (Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV)

  • On the Basis of Sex (Amazon Prime, Apple TV)

A few days ago, ten people were killed on Monday after a gunman opened fire in a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado. Police identified Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa as the suspect. In the wake of this mass shooting, President Biden has pushed for a pair of House-passed gun reforms.

School News:

This week, students who opted for hybrid learning started attending advisory in-person once again! It was so nice to go back into the building and see our classmates. We’re all hoping to be able to spend more time in-person soon, but for now, two hours is a great start!

That’s all for this week, we hope you have a fun and restful break. Stay tuned for another recap the week we are back, and as always, here’s to hoping next week is a little more normal. (whatever that means anymore).
