It’s that time of year again! Carousel rides, shopping, and, of course, loads of sweets and candies: the winter holiday season is truly a gift to all. Everyone has their own way of spending this highly anticipated holiday, but celebrating in New York is a common favorite. From light shows to Christmas markets, here are some of the most exciting holiday traditions in the Big Apple:
Bryant Park Citi Pond Take a lap around the large, unique ice-rink at Bryant Park! Around the rink, there are several small shops filled with toys, jewelry, and delicious hot chocolate!
City Harvest’s Gingerbread Extravaganza City Harvest is New York’s largest food rescue organization that collects and distributes food to those in need. In support of City Harvest, chefs and bakers around the city come together to make gingerbread houses. Some have created miniature images of Central Park, while others have developed hotels and bridges! It's a great way to have fun while supporting an important cause. Typically, the showcase can be seen at the Le Parker Meridien near Times Square.
Holiday Train Show The most iconic NYC landscapes serve as the backdrop for trains at the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show. It’s a great family outing, and a magical experience for all!
Winter Village at Union Square With over 100 booths featuring special holiday souvenirs including jewelry, clothing, and arts and crafts, the iconic Union Square market is a great way to get a taste of the diverse cultures of NYC.
